The Dollars and $ense Financial Literacy Program is a vital educational initiative designed to deliver crucial financial and investment knowledge to high school-aged students. Developed as an important enhancement by the 100 Black Men of Madison's Economic Development and Education Committees, this program serves as an essential tool for acquainting young people with the concepts necessary for future economic success.

How the Program Works

The program is built around a comprehensive eight-week set of modules, utilizing a specialized text developed in cooperation with Better Investing Inc.

Participants move through a focused curriculum covering three critical areas:

- Credit: Understanding how credit works, how to build a positive credit history, and avoiding common debt pitfalls.

- Risk Management: Learning to assess and manage personal and financial risks through insurance and strategic planning.

- Investing: Introducing the fundamental concepts of investing, including the stock market, compounding, and long-term wealth building.

By the end of the program, students will be familiar with the crucial concepts of finance and investing, positioning them for long-term economic stability and growth.
